Customer's Reviews for Beautiful World
I'm not normally one to post reviews of stuff I like, but this book stands out as an excellent read for many reasons, and I felt it was deserving of some serious props. The author immerses the reader into the Beautiful World of Irokai, a digital world where one's every dream can be made real (for a price).
Immigration, the process of transferring one's consciousness from a body of organics to a computer hardrive of ones and zeros, is a reality that a growing number of users have begun to explore, and one of the chief reasons why I love this book. Pivotal to the plot of the book is the question of what constitutes life. If intelligence can arise from within a computer, is it alive? Can it love? Moreover, if someone living kills their physical body to upload themselves into the system, are they still alive, or are they a copy of the original?
If these questions pique your interest, please check out this book! It's fantastic! :)
