Suzume wonders if she's seeing things when a sinister, demonic being appears over the shoulder of one of her classmates. She discovers the girl, Dawn, possesses the Departure Memo, a notebook dropped by the Grim Reaper that granted her the powers of a Shinigami, one of Death's agents.
