The House at Maakies Corner hc |
 |
How is the best way to describe Maakies? Fantagraphic's site says: By Tony Millionaire; follow the feindish, laugh-out-loud adventures of an alcoholic crow, a suicidal ape, and the sea pirate who inexplicably employs them both.
I say that our resident fiendish marketing fox took a copy of Maakies aboard a packed Southwest Airlines flight recently. The book almost didn't come back. Everyone who has read it has loved it! It's wrong on so many beautiful, beautiful levels.
They Might Be Giants lovers will enjoy Drinky Crow especially. But furries everywhere will find Maakies either offensive, inspired, or just plain weird. You decide! |
