| On the high seas a ship named the Wandering Star is overtaken by Kalizarians, the captain and its entire crew slaughtered. Casife and Tyrien receive word that a new squadron of specialized soldiers is also making its way to Garrison Hadge, but not for the purpose of retrieving the Seal.
Silvermain and Gabriel try to talk their way out of a heist, a move that proves quickly not to work until Cromwell's troops finally arrive and capture the bandit sailors.
Although no real information was gained, Gabriel offers a theory that reluctantly convinces Cromwell to order a ship by ship search if anything is to be found.

Back at the manor, a simple dinner proves to be an adventure itself as Raulph's severe lack of etiquette tests everyone's patience. The earl leaves, confronting Chamberlain Penton as to why the prince is even alive to begin with much less under his roof. Enraged, the earl does not mince words that he wants the Prince dead by any means necessary.
